Phuket Governor meets Chinese Vice Consul-General, ‘Phoenix’ salvage discussed

PHUKET: The Governor of Phuket on Monday (Oct 😎 met with the Vice Consul-General of the Phuket Chinese Consular Office to discuss a number of topics including the raising of the ‘Phoenix’ tour boat which sank on July 5 killing 47 Chinese tourists.

 

The meeting was also a chance for Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana to congratulate Vice Consul-General Li Chunfu and the Chinese people on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China which fell on Oct 1.

 

Also in attendance at Monday’s meeting was Acting Director of the Phuket Marine Office Wiwat Chitchertwong, who was there to provide an update on the salvage operation to raise the Phoenix tour boat.
