The Lampang snake catchers were called to the area behind a well known car dealership on Saturday after reports that a large snake had taken up residence in a drain.

A video showed the rescue team utilizing some low tech devices and some high tech skill in extricating the five foot python.

A fire was started and a stand up fan was used to blow the smoke through the drain.

Then three or four men tugged to get the serpent out of the other end.

Sanook said the python went there to lay eggs.

After twenty minutes the struggle was over - they described the snake as fierce and not wishing to go quietly!

The snake was returned to nature successfully.
