The Prajuab Khirikhan provincial governor has ordered the Hua Hin city council and related authorities to get a move on and install more CCTV cameras in the resort.

A 50 million baht fund was set aside following the bombing outrages in the town in 2016 but there have been delays due to problems in their positioning.

The plan was to install up to 400 cameras to supplement the 90 police cameras and 60 operated by the Hua Hin council.

But there have been delays in their implementation said Phallop Singhasenee.

The delays have been caused by the provincial electricity authority blocking use of certain power poles.

Now it is time to get a move on and sort out security in Hua Hin once and for all, said the governor.

The move also comes after a motorcycle with plates from one of the troubled southern border provinces was found to have been parked at the Hua Hin railway station for several days.

It was found to not be connected to any bomb making activities.

The governor's moves also come after several bombs and fires hit Bangkok last Friday during a ministerial meeting of ASEAN officials.
