Pattaya chief Pol Col Pongphan Wongmaneethet and tourist police chief Lt-Col Piyapong Ensarn announced the arrest of Konkham Janthasorn, 29 who is known in the bars as "Nong Kai the Lao Kathoey".

The Laotian has been charged with theft during the hours of darkness using a conveyance.

Two other Thai lady boys are still at large - they are Grace, 25 and Face 23.

Mr Anan Preet Bagga was robbed in Soi 6 off beach road in the early hours of August 1st.

"Nong Kai" said that he and his lady boy pals decided to go on a "let's steal gold from a tourist" caper. His job was to greet the tourist and engage him in conversation while the other two would relieve him of his jewelry.
