Two young Chinese woman arrested for running online betting in Chiang Mai house

Tourist police in Chiang Mai armed with a search warrant raided a house in a housing estate in Doi Saket on Thursday morning.

 

They arrested two Chinese woman aged 24 and 25 who were running an online betting operation. 

 

They had come into Thailand on tourist visas. The house had the curtains closed up and the women who were arrested did not go out.

Many computers and phones were taken into evidence. 

 

The tourists were charged under gambling legislation related to encouraging and advertising illegal betting that was promulgated in 1935. 

 

When police arrived they were working on customer accounts and using the PokeMaster program, reported the Division 2 Tourist Police site on Facebook.
